Heidi Sommer McAlister , MSEd., LPC  is a Licensed Professional Counselor holding a Masters of Science Degree in Counseling from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the Ohio State University.  She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Ohio Counseling  Association (COCA), Academy for Eating  Disorders (AED), National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) and Postpartum Support International (PSI).

Heidi has spoken professionally at the local, statewide, national, and international level on topics including Reel Mental Health: The Diagnostic Film Companion©,  The Rookie Years:  Challenges, Surprises & Survival Skills for New Therapists, and Support Groups for Eating Disorders. She is also an adjunct instructor for the University of Dayton Counselor Education Department.

Her background in the arts combined with extensive business experience and clinical counseling training, fosters a creative and focused approach to both the consulting and counseling services offered by The Sommer Group.
